Even your dog does it.

Detox, it’s like a dirty word that makes you cringe.  However, (as many of you know) if you see me in the office this is a word that is going to be used in that initial conversation.  A good detox, followed later by nutrition, possible supplements, stress levels, etc. Yes, a detox will most certainly be mentioned.

If you suffer from infertility you should detox.

If you have cancer you should detox.

If you have cellulite you should detox.

If you have chronic symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, you should detox.

Why are we so resistant? Dogs do it. Cats do it. If they don’t feel good they eat a bunch of grass, vomit, stop eating, and rest. Our ancestors did it. My grandmother spoke of collecting greens they called pokeweed, boiling it down three times, and drinking the water every spring and fall to “clean themselves out”.  Most religions such as Catholicism, Judaism or Islam practice some type of fasting.  As modern Americans, we resist. I resisted until my mentor pointed at my little spare tire at my waistline and informed me it was not going to go away until I did a liver cleanse. “Sold!” and ordered a kit the next day.  I, like many of you, was resistant because I did not want to suffer. I love my food pyramid which is shaped more like a Himalayan sea salt rock. The good news is, that in this day and age, we have more tools to help us detox comfortably than we could possibly imagine. Listed below are a few of my favorites.

1.Des-Bio Comprehensive Detox

Why do I love it?  It’s easy to drink drops, taste like nothing, and these six vials reach every corner of your body-even the brain.

2. Heel Detox Kit (now only available in Europe, thank you FDA), or Body Anew Cleanse as re-packaged in USA with less informational and more confusing label.

Why do I love it? These kits are economical, have little taste, and cover three of the major organ systems.

3. Hevert Detox Kit

This is the “new kid on the block” and it may be a suitable replacement for Heel  Detox Kit listed above.  It’s also a homeopathic liquid with little taste. Perhaps a good, comprehensive detox right between Heel and DesBio with body systems covered.

4. Parastroy or Paragone Products by Nature’s Secret

I don’t know if I love it, but I know it respect it.  Parastroy was recommended for me by my mentor. He was convinced I had liver flukes, if not other guests residing in my gut.  I didn’t believe him, but three days later I was a believer.  It killed the bad guys.  I know use this and I use this system 1-2 times per year.

5. Milk Thistle

No love, but a practical marriage.  A milk thistle capsule or two before bed is excellent maintenance detoxifier if you need to give your body a little extra help detoxing after regular daily abuse. This is always on my countertop.

6. ChlorOxygen Chlorophyll Concentrate

My true love. It tastes minty, is cheap, and relatively easy to drink. It claims to purify the blood and remove heavy metals from the body amongst other things (just google it.) I began taking it when I noticed I was feeling horribly sick after my seemingly endless CT/ PET scans.  I was convinced it was helping push the radioactive iodine out of my body sooner. It gave me less inflammation and more energy right away. I’ve been in love ever since.

Why should you detox?

Well, if your trying to conceive, or have gynecological problems such as polycystic ovaries or endometriosis then this is undeniably necessary in my book. Egg quality, endometrial lining, hormonal overload (due to medications) hormonal imbalance due to stress, age, or diet will not magically fix itself if we are constantly exposing ourselves to poor air quality, water (including ice cubes), hormones in foods, preservatives, pesticides on food, in air, on lawn, or in the cotton in your menstrual products.  Your body needs help with all of this, right?

If you have a chronic illness of any sort, unidentified or not, a mild to moderate purification will help.  Whether you have an actual diagnosis or just feel awful, you are fighting the natural world of viruses, bacteria, and funguses and the unnatural world of man-made chemicals all the time. These may or may not have been detected on any lab tests or maybe there was no lab tests. Regardless, it could be a good idea to take a little extra load off your immune system.

Preventative?  Yes, that’s a wise option too.  Don’t wait until you feel crummy.  Do what my grandmother and her mother did.  “Purge” twice a year.  They both lived very long and healthy lives.

Of course, any detox might go better with supervision.  Contact your medical professional if you have any questions or concerns.

Now, I’m off to take my dose of ChlorOxygen.  Thanks for reading!
